Debbi Snyder

Debbi's experience includes; being the co-founder of the competitive dog obedience training group, Obedience Plus.  Obedience Plus has won the state championship three times. Debbi  was also on the board of directors for the SPCA for two terms.  She did the Wednesday morning radio spot on three local stations, talking each week about specific dogs and cats at the shelter waiting for lifetime homes.  Debbi still does behavior counseling for the SPCA as a volunteer.   She has also been vice president and co-training director of a local obedience club, and has instructed obedience classes for the City of Winter Haven RecreationDepartment.

In addition to competing at various obedience events over the southeast United States with her AKC registered / certified Therapy Dog, Border Terrier Oscar, and her AKC/UKC registered / certified Therapy Dog, Labrador Retriever Rhett, Debbi attends training seminars/workshops with some of the top trainers in the country each year.

Debbi Snyder has earned 25 titles in competition, including an Obedience Trial Champion. She has trained service dogs for the handicapped, and is a volunteer evaluator for Therapy Dogs International, Inc. (emotional therapy dogs).

Jill Wallace

Jill has been associated with DogSense Obedience for almost 10 years. She has been an assistant with DogSense Obedience for over a year, teaching classes from beginners up through competition level.

Starting with a Collie who earned a novice title, then a rescued Golden Retriever who earned his open title and was a certified therapy dog, Jill has competed in obedience events for many years. She currently competes individually with her AKC/UKC registered and certified therapy dog Labrador Retriever Oakley. You will also meet Jill at various DogSense Obedience demonstration events in and around Lakeland.

Jill is also the president of the competitive training group, Obedience Plus. Along with Debbi, Jill attends training seminars/workshops with some of the top trainers in the country every year.

A member of Obedience Plus, I have been competing in Obedience with my dogs since meeting Debbi about 9 years ago. I have owned three Golden Retrievers and a Labrador Retriever, Furman.

I began competing with Sandy, my second Golden. She and I earned a CD and CDX before she passed in March of 2006. That May, Furman entered my life. A son of Debbi’s Rhett, he has been a joy. My other Golden is a loving family pet, her name is Hope.
